Camo-Socks

Just finished another pair of sock -- FINALLY. I hated making these socks for a number of reasons, but mainly because I was knitting a stitch pattern on the cuffs that was very hard to see both in the knitting of and seeing the pattern. But even though I hated them, I was too stubborn to just give up on them!

So these socks have put me way behind in my sock knitting because I just wasn't very motivated to work on them and didn't want to start a new set on a different set of needles. (If I had done that, I think I would have never finished the camo-socks.) I think it has taken me a year to finish them!!

I was finally motivated to get them done because I wanted to take a fun set of socks to work on while traveling back and forth to Adina's. So now I'm on to a new set of socks using the same pattern but a much lighter/nicer color way! Much softer yarn, too.

First Anniversary Card

This is the anniversary card that I made for Adina and Zeke. I had been thinking of making some sort of mini fiber art quilt, but then realized that the first anniversary was "paper", so I found this watercolor paper that I had painted and put it together with a wedding photo printed on organza, along with some words from the song "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles printed on linen.

Hudson's Favorite Summertime Game

This is Hudson at his favorite game to play in the summertime. He drops his toy in the pool and then takes it out -- over and over and over again. He goes from one set of stairs to the other, and never tires of this.

Hudson Does It Again

This makes surgery number 3 and he is only 5 years old!

Poor puppy, but poor wallet even more!

He is recovering nicely and will soon be looking for more ways to fulfill his doggy death wish. Gotta love that dog!

Scarves and More Scarves

I've decided to move all of my knitting posts to this blog and keep the Crazy By Design blog just for fabric related stuff!

I finished a couple of more scarves, so yesterday I took them outside with my scarf model to take photos.

My model was really playing to the camera. ;-) Just look at those flirty eyes.

These are all from yarn that I purchased in Carmel when we were there for Adina's wedding. I'm keeping the red one for myself!

Gone Turkish

The espresso machine broke and since we have no moola for repairs, Mark unearthed his Turkish coffee pot from our storage room. We have been enjoying Turkish coffee so much that we are in no hurry to repair or get another espresso machine!

Day in the Park

We went to Brooklyn to visit Mark's brother on Easter and got to visit the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, which is just a short walk from their apartment.

Beautiful gardens, but mainly I'm posting this picture to show that I'm wearing the shirt that MMI gave me for Christmas! When I exchanged it for the right size, I also changed the color. ;-)

I'm also thinking that we need more cherry trees around our property!
